Understanding SIP
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is a method of investing in mutual funds where you invest a fixed amount at regular intervals (usually monthly). SIP offers several benefits:
- Rupee Cost Averaging: Reduces the impact of market volatility
- Power of Compounding: Returns generate more returns over time
- Disciplined Investing: Builds a regular investment habit
- Flexibility: Start with as little as ₹500 per month

Understanding Fixed Deposits
A Fixed Deposit (FD) lets you deposit a lump sum for a fixed period at a guaranteed rate of interest. Most Indian banks compound FD interest quarterly.
- Guaranteed Returns: The interest rate is fixed for the whole tenure
- Compounding: More frequent compounding gives a slightly higher maturity value
- Taxation: FD interest is taxable as per your income tax slab, and TDS may apply
- Premature Withdrawal: Usually allowed with a small interest penalty
Disclaimer: This calculator assumes interest is reinvested (cumulative FD) and is for illustrative purposes only. It does not account for tax or TDS. Actual maturity values depend on your bank's terms.

Understanding Recurring Deposits
A Recurring Deposit (RD) lets you save a fixed amount every month and earn a guaranteed rate of interest. Indian banks typically compound RD interest quarterly, which is what this calculator uses.
- Disciplined Saving: Builds a habit of saving a fixed amount every month
- Guaranteed Returns: The rate is locked in when you open the RD
- Small Amounts: Most banks let you start with as little as ₹100 per month
- Taxation: RD interest is taxable as per your income tax slab, and TDS may apply
Disclaimer: This calculator assumes every instalment is paid on time at the start of each month and is for illustrative purposes only. It does not account for tax or TDS. Actual maturity values depend on your bank's terms.

Your PPF Results
Maturity Breakdown
Understanding PPF
The Public Provident Fund (PPF) is a Government of India savings scheme with a 15-year term that can be extended in blocks of 5 years. Interest is compounded once a year and the rate is reviewed by the Government every quarter.
- Investment Limits: Minimum ₹500 and maximum ₹1,50,000 per financial year
- Tax Benefits (EEE): Deposits qualify for Section 80C under the old tax regime, and interest and maturity are tax-free
- Safety: Backed by the Government of India
- Liquidity: Partial withdrawals are allowed from the 7th financial year, and loans from the 3rd
Disclaimer: This calculator assumes the same amount is deposited at the start of every financial year (before 5th April) and that the interest rate stays the same throughout. It is for illustrative purposes only; actual returns depend on the rates notified by the Government.
EMI Calculator
Calculate the monthly instalment (EMI) and total interest on a home, car or personal loan

Payment Breakdown
Understanding EMI
An Equated Monthly Instalment (EMI) is the fixed amount you pay your lender every month until the loan is repaid. Each EMI covers part of the interest and part of the principal.
- Early Years: Most of each EMI goes towards interest; the principal share grows over time
- Longer Tenure: Lowers the EMI but increases the total interest you pay
- Prepayment: Paying extra towards the principal can sharply reduce total interest
- Affordability: A common guideline is to keep all EMIs within 40% of your monthly income
Disclaimer: This calculator uses a fixed interest rate and is for illustrative purposes only. It does not include processing fees, insurance or rate changes on floating-rate loans.
IRR Calculator
Find the annual return (Internal Rate of Return) of an investment from its yearly cash flows
Your IRR Results
Understanding IRR
The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is the yearly rate of return at which the value of all money you receive exactly equals the money you invest, taking into account when each amount is paid or received. It lets you compare investments with uneven cash flows on a like-for-like basis.
- Higher is Better: Compare the IRR with your other options, such as an FD rate
- Timing Matters: Money received earlier raises the IRR
- Useful For: Insurance-cum-investment plans, real estate, business projects and annuities
- Assumption: Cash flows are spaced one year apart
Disclaimer: This calculator is for illustrative purposes only and does not account for tax. Unusual cash flow patterns can have more than one IRR; please consult us before making an investment decision.
